Dr. Bernstein with advanced imaging and endodontic technology.
Advanced 3D imaging helps Dr. Bernstein identify hidden anatomy, missed tissue, and infections that may not appear clearly on traditional flat dental X-rays.
No two teeth are exactly alike. The same tooth in one person may have one root, while another person may have three. 3D CT imaging provides a clearer map of the tooth and surrounding bone.
This technology helps locate infected tissue, evaluate healing, and identify hidden problems that may not cause pain.
Moving 3D CT image used to visualize dental and jaw structures.
Before retreatment. The arrow shows missed tissue. The white areas show where tissue was found and root canal filling was placed.
After retreatment. Once the missed tissue was located, the area was filled and appears white on the CT scan.
Same patient before the root canal was redone.
After retreatment. Two root canal fillings can now be seen.
The arrow points to an opening at the end of the root where bacteria are escaping into the surrounding bone. The dark area represents infection and bone loss. The adjacent dark area may indicate another infected tooth that might not be visible on a traditional dental X-ray.
